She always smiled for photos. Her smile she said would be one big smile, and no one could ever tell her differently.
Only her pillow knew her truth. Only her pillow saw her tears of pain and the contortions of her mouth that resembles those smiles but let out wails.
Everyone smiled in photos. And that was the life to remember, even if a life never lived. The life of a smile.
